Before you worry about where this is going, I think you need to get your head out of the gutter.
Today I’m basically doing a post where I can brag about leaving the house!
Last week, I took a trip to Twickenham to watch the rugby and it really did feel like the end of the pandemic.
Aside from getting a QR code to prove I was clean from a covid perspective, everything was pretty relaxed. Plenty of beer was flowing – sometimes spilt down the seats rather than the throat, but conversations with strangers were struck up.
No need to really worry about the game thanks to Tonga being in a lower league than the English boys so a pretty safe bet the bulk of the 80,000 crowd will have been celebrating on overpriced pints.
I have deliberately waited a week to ensure there’s not been a ping or a positive covid test from the crowd – rather than the team of which there have been a few. Obviously one big event isn’t a sign the pandemic is over, but it does feel great to be able to go out without too many restrictions again.
