Mean beans

For those of you who enjoyed That’s a shit sandwich, you’ll enjoy the fact this post has a similar feel to it.

Recently, I had some beans for my tea. Upon pouring them from the tin into the pan, fear filled me. I was convinced these beans weren’t going to be good. How? I hear you ask. Well, the beans to sauce ratio was wrong.

Once the beans were heated, my fears were confirmed. This was closer to soup with beans in it rather than beans in a tomato sauce.

Not one to be left disappointed without acting on it, I decided I should write to them. A strongly worded email to express my sadness was typed and sent. Customer services are very quick to respond. They’re sad to say I’m not happy so will send some vouchers – I just need to provide the best before date and the batch number so they can look into it.

I have to say, at this point, I’m surprised at how quickly they dealt with my complaint. However, a few days pass and I eagerly await for the post to arrive. More days pass and then it is clear that the vouchers aren’t coming. I’m not sure whether they were never sent or they were lost in the post. But I’m not one to let it lie. I hop back on the email to customer service to check whether the vouchers were sent. They were, but more would come as I hadn’t got them.

For all that effort I have £4 off my next purchase including beans. I’ll chalk that up as a win. Picture below to show how soup like they really were – potato products to show context.
